The shelter doors are located on each end of the cooler.. This shelter is designed to keep your outdoor cat, stray, or neighborhood feral cats safe from the cold, snow, or rainy conditions, all while keeping the cats cool in the summer months.
The insulation in the walls is approximately 1” thick, which, compared to the 1/2 “on most other igloo designs, makes this a premium shelter. The insulation in the igloo latitude is the first of its kind to be made with recycled post-consumer resin, meaning, this shelter is Eco Friendly and better for the environment than most.
The shelter will accommodate one large cat (approximately 10-12 lbs.) or 2 small cats (under 10 lbs.) Dimensions are approximate: The exterior of the shelter measures (L x W x H): 25 x 14.5 x 15 inches and the interior 20 in L x 11 in W x 12 In.
The shelter is Crafted with two doors. One door is a top of the line, locking flap style Door and one door is left unobstructed (uncovered).
This unobstructed door, also know as the escape door is extremely helpful if the cat is in the shelter and a predator comes thru the front door, they can make a quick escape out the back. Another great reason one door is left uncovered is because many feral cats will simply not use a door with a flap, so this gives them the options, depending on the type of cat you have! As the cats become more accustomed to their new house, they may be more apt to use the unobstructed 6.5” Entrance out of availability and convenience. The collar is made out of 100% biodegradable plastic made from reusable resources. watch out for cat houses made with PVC, Which is known to leech out dangerous chemicals, which could be harmful to the very cats we are trying to help and house.
The shelter doors are reinforced with weather stripping to minimize temperature loss at these vulnerable areas. This shelter will come with handles left on if you don’t specify or if you order the shelter with the cover, they will also be removed. Upgrade any house to two flap style doors for a small upcharge.
